MINISTER OF MUSIC AND EDUCATION - KIRK HOLLOWAY

My family and I have been at First Baptist Church since June 1987. I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from East Central High School in 1972. My family and I were very active at Garnett Road Baptist Church in Tulsa.  I served in the United States Army as a computer operator and chaplains assistant for three years at Cooke Barracks in Goeppingen, Germany and as a computer operator for a year and a half at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma.

I met my wife, Janet, while serving the military in Germany. Janet grew up in Cedar Rapids Iowa. She enjoys cooking, sewing, reading and home schooling our children. We have six children, Matthew, Joel, Jonathan, Anna, Leah and Sarah.

I have previously served at Parkland Baptist Church, Tulsa, OK; Garnett Road Baptist Church, Tulsa, OK; First Baptist Church, Westville, OK; First Baptist Church, Jay, OK; and Trinity Baptist Church, Lawton, OK.

My responsibilities include all music ministries of the church and director of Sunday School, Discipleship Training and AWANA ministries. I also serve as the AWANA Commander and Senior Adult Minister.

When not performing the many responsibilities around the church I love working with wood and constructing things. I am in the midst of adding a room to our house. I also have been a member of the world renown Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma since 1982. This organization with a membership of over 325 ministers of music has given me many opportunities to not just sing around Oklahoma but also in other states and countries including Lativia, Estonia, Russia and Australia.
